Building on athleticBaby's commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for children, the Gold Medal Play Group is an interactive, fun-filled program specially designed for ages 3 months to 3 years
Dallas, TX - May 8, 2006 -With their popular series of children's sports and fitness DVDs, athleticBaby (www.athleticbaby.com) has already introduced babies and toddlers nationwide to the benefits of sports, fitness and physical activity. Now, with athleticBaby's new Gold Medal Play Group, an exciting series of age-appropriate activity classes, parents and children can take the athleticBaby experience one step further while enjoying the many rewards of an active lifestyle.
Registration is offered in 12-week increments and includes one hour-long class each week. The Gold Medal Play Group will debut at the Plano Sports Authority (www.psaplano.org), a youth sporting facility, in Texas starting August 2006. Looking ahead, athleticBaby will make the Gold Medal Play Group program available to accredited organizations nationwide in 2007. The program was created by athleticBaby and experts in various fields, and was also reviewed by their Blue Ribbon Panel of Advisors. Instructors will go through a Gold Medal Certification process prior to teaching classes.

The Gold Medal Play Group is designed as a six stage program focusing on motor skills development and social interaction while building a child's self confidence. Each class combines age-appropriate basic movement, fun-filled group games and non-competitive sports fundamentals.
The six stages of Gold Medal Play Group are structured as follows:
- Stage One: Inspire. Experiencing the world around them. Ages 3-6 months
- Stage Two: Encourage. Learning through simple cause and effect. Ages 6-12 months
- Stage Three: Interact. Entering the world of interactive play. Ages 12-18 months
- Stage Four: Explore. Engage the imagination through exploration. Ages 16-18 months
- Stage Five: Achieve. Building self-confidence. Age 2-3 years
- Stage Six: Accomplish. Promoting a lifetime of physical activity. Ages 3-4 years
